Quick Update on Princess

We are home from her surgery this morning. It was much worse than we originally expected. Her tonsils were so large and she was currently battling yet another infection. What this means is that her "scabs" (sorry, I know that is a gross word) will be much larger than normal when they begin to heal and come off (a painful stage). When we got home I began giving her the meds that were prescribed and she just wanted to lay around...she didn't fall asleep at all which surprised me. Anyway, we watched a few cartoons in the living room and then moved to my bedroom to stretch out and watch more cartoons. I went to check on her after about 15 minutes and she said, "I want a snack." I listed a few of the options she had, all to which she answered no. Then she said, "Oh. I know. I want a popsicle!" Of course we went and got that girl a popsicle from the freezer (I planned ahead and stocked up on things I thought she might want/be able to eat.) She is currently on her THIRD popsicle (Correction-now 4th one) and is sitting at her little table and watching yet even more cartoons. So for now, we are good....but I know she will be in a lot of pain for the next few days. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I will try to keep updated as much as possible for you guys. A Question of Health

The Princess is having surgery next week and I am trying to ignore that little fact. She is having tubes put in and having her tonsils and adenoids removed. She has been sick a lot over the last year since she started daycare/school and her tonsils are absolutely HUGE. She doesn't breathe through her nose at all and she snores horribly. I know that she needs these procedures and she will probably feel SO MUCH better after she is all healed....but I can't help but feel like a huge failure. Why you ask? Because I was so determined to nurse my baby for over a year to cut down on her risk of infections such as the ones she has been getting. I did it. I nursed her for over a year and even though it was time consuming and my body wasn't just mine....I loved every minute of it. I was doing this for Princess.....for her health. And now she is having to have surgery. Should I have nursed longer? Did I eat the right/wrong things? Did I drink enough water?
I know these are all stupid questions as no amount of nursing or anything for that matter could have prevented her from getting sick once she started daycare. And nothing could prevent the size of her tonsils either. I am not feeling super down but then again these feelings will probably continue as the surgery date looms closer. Like I said, I am trying to ignore that little fact right now!

These Balloons Look Like Sh!t

As promised in a previous post, here is another one!
On Sunday, the day of K&T's baby shower, we dropped off some blue balloons to be blown up at a local grocery store. Simple enough, right? Wrong. When we arrived to pick them up they were all different shapes, smaller than anticipated, and kept popping. To top it off, the person blowing them up was tying them to a water balloon so they wouldn't float away.....yes, I said water balloon. Not a cute little weight or clip.....a water balloon, three to be exact. So here J-Momma and I go lugging these UGLY balloons attached to water balloons into the tiny car and head off to the shower. I would have like to have put them sporadically around as decorations but since they were all so small we just put them all on the mailbox. Of course I didn't take a picture for your enjoyment but maybe someone else that attended did and will share with me. And I promise......!!!!! to get pics of Princess Belle up asap!
