Blah Humbug!

Okay, so I promise I will get pictures up very soon!

I really don't have much to say today except that I am feeling very down. No reason, nothing to be concerned about....just sad. Or maybe Blah is the better word for it....yeah, blah is how I am feeling.....I should be feeling great. Alabama is kicking A$$, work is great, DH is great, Princess is great (sometimes), but I am just blah. Oh well, maybe some chocolate will do the trick!

Okay....so in my craziness, drunkiness, or most likely....sleepiness....I referred to someone as Gatormomma.....while watching AU vs TN today....I realized that she shouldn't be called Gatormomma (she is an LSU fan...) but she should be Tigermomma....but that could refer to so many of my friends.....soooooo, if you see Gatormomma in previous posts....we will just rename her to LSU momma.....clear as mud?

Running on Empty

We left Las Vegas together around 3:45 PM and arrived in Atlanta around 10:ish PM. We then had to drive home and arrived here around 1:30 AM or so. Princess woke up us about 10 AM and we immediately began unpacking and packing and washing clothes, etc.......We left around 2 PM for Huntsville and I went over to help set up for K&T's baby shower the next day. Luckily Gatormomma was handling most of the set up and we only had a few things to work on. We all went back to K&T's house to watch the AU v LSU game....can I get a ROLL TIDE BABY? At least it was better than 3-2 ...come on guys! Anyway, we all stayed up until the end of the game...which included Princess. She finally got to sleep and poor DH had to sleep on the floor. Hopefully that was made up for though. We got up early the next morning and met K&T's extended family at a local restaurant. It was so much fun seeing everyone as we love this family as our very own. I can't believe that K's nephew has gotten so big and will soon be a big brother! He seemed pretty excited when I talked to him about it. Everyone looked great and we had so much fun getting together again. We hurried back home because J was picking me up to go to Gatormomma's house to finalize decorations and setting up food. Details on the shower next!!!
PS- A cute comment before we get to the shower details......Princess LOVES HER K & T!!!!!! I was sitting next to K on the couch and Princess walked up and handed him a coloring book, walked to where I was sitting and said, "Get Up. My Seat, My K. color wif me." She also loves their kitties too. I don't know what it was about this visit....if she is older, she just feels comfortable here now, she is glad to be somewhere she recognized after crazy vegas....But she was a pretty good girl if I do say so myself for most of the weekend. She loved on T's belly and crawled over K and lovingly chased the kitties......it was a wonderful visit in my opinion!!!!

Wife of the Segway Stealer

Well after Princess and I left DH at his conference, we so kindly offered to load up his bags of goodies and carry them in the stroller back across the street for him. He said he would be right behind us. After about an hour I had to send him a text to tell him the absolute latest I needed him there for me to get to my massage. He walks in about 10 minutes before I have to go down with a silly look on his face. All he could say was, "there's a story...give me a second...there's a story." He stayed at the convention to look for one of the guys that attended with him to arrange dinner plans for the evening. He found him at a vendor booth surrounded by approximately 300 visitors. DH was unable to reach his friend as he was a little behind him but DH thought he would wait and stay while they gave away the door prizes. The gave away all the cash prizes and all that was left was the Segway. Well, the stipulation was that you had to be present and wearing this GOD awful orange vendor tshirt you received earlier in the day (remember where DH's is? In the stroller..._) Anyway, they call out the company name first.........then they call DH's name. He immediately squats to the ground and begins to look around. There is a guy in front on him with his shirt on his shoulder that gives it to DH. As DH starts putting the shirt on and starts walking to the front the company reps begin arguing amongst themselves about whether in fact he had won or not?!?!?!?! DH said, "look, I don't even want the thing if it is going to cause all this trouble." The highest rep said that DH did in fact win the Segway.........Hooray right? Wrong....ALLLLLL of the other participants started ripping their shirts off and pelting DH and the reps in the heads with them. They were cussing them and saying all kinds of things to my DH. I am still in shock after him telling me this story and I'm almost afraid to be seen in public with him. So I head on down to my massage. When I arrive back I learn that he had to go BACK over to the vendor booth (with Princess) to have his picture made with the Segway....luckily he remembered to change into the orange shirt before he left....
So, Yes we are now the proud owners of a Segway (or the cash prize they offered instead!!!) IT was better than gambling!!!!

Sensory Overload

Princess and I arrived in Vegas around 10:30 PM Pacific time (12:30 Central time). She was still holding up pretty well considering the lengthy trip we had just taken. The next day we spent the entire day walking!!! We visited M&M's World, the Rain Forest Cafe', and several other hotels and shops. She fell asleep in the stroller on the way back to the hotel (which she never does)..SCORE.....she took an almost three hour nap. I knew she and I were going to have a fun night together. DH was still conferencing and had an after conference event until very late. When Princess got up, we got all dolled up and walked over to Caesar's Palace. We shopped and looked at the fish in the aquariums. We visited FAO Schwartz and jumped on the floor piano. We ate together at the cheesecake factory and she was wonderful. She was sweet and cheerful and loving. We thoroughtly enjoyed our time together that night. We even went into the Tiffany & Co. store and I tried on my ring (emerald and diamond eternity band). I am so glad I savored this time with her because the next morning was hell. No seriously, pure hell. There were tantrums and fit pitching for everyone, snotting, foot stomping, whining, crying, screaming, you name it!!!!! We walked the other direction to the Fashion Show Mall (I'm thinking of things to see that will not require her to be in the sun for a long time.) We shopped at Children's Place and Gymboree and a few other spots. Then we walked over to visit DH on a break during his conference. OMG I wore my happy mommy face for as long as I could though then I just told DH to come back over....I was getting a massage......! More to come...

PS-The massage was wonderful. There were spa tubs and several other ammentities you could use before and after your actual massage.....I totally did and it was wonderful!!!

Airport Anxiety

As many of you may know, I am deathly afraid of heights and airplanes go pretty high right? So for the few days leading up to our trip, I was beginning to feel the sporadic panic attacks coming on....each day they grew worse. I knew I needed to get everything under control as I would be flying alone with the Princess and I didn't want her to sense my nervousness. I was really building up the plane ride for her so she would enjoy it and be comfortable on her first plane ride. The night before (as you can see from the previous post) I was trying to keep myself distracted, hence "losing" the keys. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, and my stomach was in knots the night before and the entire day while waiting to pick her up. It didn't help that it was also a horrible day at work and I was late picking Princess up. However, when I got her from school and we got in the car and I told her we were on our way to the airport-her face lit up and my heart lifted....She was so excited and talked the entire car ride to Atlanta and I forgot I nervous. I forgot to BE nervous. I was fine in the airport (I'm usually ready to throw up by then). I was fine getting on the plane and only started to feel a little anxiety as we were buckling up. I used some of my prescription meds to prevent a major attack and then just sat back and enjoyed watching my baby on her first plane ride. She was wonderful....she had a blast and everyone around us that was grunting and seemingly quietly moaning about a toddler sitting near them were so impressed with how well she did. I received many compliments on how well behaved she was and how cute it was that she enjoyed her first ever plane ride.
Because of this and my Princess-I now believe the majority of my anxiety regarding flying is gone....I said majority, not all! Usually the day before we fly home the anxiety begins again.....this time, Nothing.....Nothing in the airport, nothing even when we were seated on the plane. DH was with us this time so he held my hand during take off (one of the worst parts for me) but Princess started crying because "(her) belly hurts." Meaning we had A LOT of turbulence taking off and getting all the way up. (There were lots of ups and downs which you know makes your belly feel weird.) I just wrapped my arms around her and we sang songs until we were all the way up....Everyone told me being a mother would change your life FOREVER and of course I only half a$$ listened...but it really does. Who would have thought I would overcome my flight anxiety......For my sweet little Princess I can do anything......

Where Are My Keys?

Okay, so Princess and I begin Tuesday morning very excited about our trip to Vegas. We do our morning routine and something just tells me to "hurry up" and get on out of the house earlier than usual. I was trying to be proactive (read-work off some of my nervous energy/anxiety) the night before and pack half of our things into the car. The only thing left not to pack was the suitcase which you always have to add the last minute things to before you leave right? So we have all of our last minute essentials packed and we are on our way....or so we thought. I got to open the trunk to put in the suitcase and think, "Where are My EFFING KEYS?" Oh, I remember-they are in the backpack I am taking to Vegas (instead of a purse). So I go to the front door to get out the keys...wrong....ALL OF THE DOORS ARE LOCKED WITH THE KEYS INSIDE!!!! Huge Problem. It wouldn't have been such a huge problem but the other set was with DH in Vegas. We could have taken my car but HALF OF OUR LUGGAGE including my wallet, etc was locked in DH's Car!! OMG OMG OMG OMG Soooo, I call a locksmith to come help me. He sounds three sheets in the wind (yeah) but I am at least relieved to have some help on the way. Then I start to thinking-I never lock DH's car on the door panel. I always lock it with the hand held lock.....so, is there a possibility they are in the house somewhere. What if the locksmith gets here and unlocks the door and they aren't in the backpack...I'm still screwed right? SOOOO, Princess and I began searching the house top to bottom. During my anxiety induced cleaning stage the night before, I had moved all of Princess' toys to DH's office away from the puppy.....and I had LEFT THE KEYS on the arm of the loveseat....SUCCESS.....SO I grab Princess and dash out the door and haul it for school and work. I get to work only 7 minutes late (no biggie) only to remember that I never called the locksmith to tell him I found my keys....ooops....I honestly wonder if he even showed up though????? So begins our trip.....more to come!!!!

They sound slightly interesting right...the titles might change as I start typing but this is going to pretty much be the highlights of our trip to Vegas and our weekend will the Williams' family and their awesome baby shower! Almost Time...

Well we took DH to the airport this morning for his flight to Las Vegas. A and I walked around and learned about the airport and even though Bham "International" Airport (don't you need to have international flights...whatever) is much different than Hartsfield it still served the purpose of showing A around. DH arrived safe and sound and is out enjoying himself right now. I got zero sleep last night as I have anxiety issues about flying and generally just couldn't make my mind stop running. My eyes and head hurt so bad right now I can barely stand it but I know sleep will come soon.
We have had an eventful weekend with Big A's birthday party in our hometown. It was at the park, hence outside, and OMG it was freaking hot! By the time I got home I believe I was dehydrated because I was seeing spots, very weak, headache, thirsting to death, and other uncommon symptoms. I chugged water and A's pedialyte and felt better in about an hour. But that is how hot it was...All of the kiddos had a great time though and Big A got some really cool new toys.
A and I are leaving Tuesday for Vegas. Wish me luck! We all will fly home together late Friday night and leave out Saturday for K&T's house. Their shower is Sunday and I can't wait to see them! We will all have a great time watching LSU kick AU's A$$ Saturday night (oops, did I just type that out loud?) Seriously though...what was wrong with them last night? Anyway, I've got all the shower and gift items already packed up and waiting at the door to toss in the car and head to Huntsvegas. It is going to be a blast and I can't wait to see that baby bump (and love on it!!) Oh well, gotta go...A is in the tub and I hear some MAJOR splash action going on.....(yeah, that was sarcastic for those of you that don't know me)

Belle of the Ball

Well last night the family went to the local mall to pick up some last minute items for DH before he leaves for Vegas (he leaves Sunday and DD and I will meet him out there on Tuesday.) While in the store, we saw a few Halloween costumes. My intention was for DD to be Snow *Wipe* until I saw this Belle, Beauty and the Beast, Costume. It is gorgeous! The skirt is very full and tea-length with lots of sparkles. We, of course, had to try it on in the store over our clothes and model it for Daddy. She was too funny walking up and down the aisle and turning around in circles for Daddy... He really didn't have a choice in the matter in buying it after he saw her in it! "Let's get it Daddy, For Me!" So now I am on a mission to find the perfect shoes and accessories for my Little Princess...the more sparkles the better!

What a Weekend

We had a great weekend! There were some ups and downs but overall it was great. On Saturday, my sister, her DH, Big A and Little E came up to watch Princess so DH and I could go on a real date. He had to work most of the day so I just met him in town for dinner. After much deliberation we decided to go to Firebirds. We have been many times and I never ever regret going there. It was delicious! It was so nice to sit across from my DH and just enjoy his conversation. No worrying about dropping crayons, "I do it myself", or wanting to dance on the table (The Princess people, not me.) Of course then we had the rest of the evening to ourselves and we had NOTHING to do! We really didn't feel like the movies because well, they are boring. You can't talk to one another and you really don't want to if you paid $20+ for a movie-you want to watch it (or at least you fee like you have too.) SOOOO, as mentioned, we did go to Toys R' Us to shop for princess and her betrothed (little M). They are having a huge Thomas the Train event right now and we were planning to rack up...not so much. The signs were up but the date stated begins 9/7...which was Sunday...oh well. We did wind up getting her an Abby Cadabby (Elmo's Friend) doll. She always says, "That's me!" Maybe she will forgive me for spelling her name wrong. Or maybe she will like to be different...that's another post.
Saturday morning didn't start off as well as it ended. I woke up with a horrible migraine, an imitrex migraine. I did decide to take one even though they are hard to "process" and luckily my parents showed up right then! Talk about timing. I got to lay down for awhile and they got to spend time with princess. With all of this happening, I totally forgot about visiting my friend, L's, new house. I talked to her later in the day and felt horrible. We will definitely have to make it out there soon....they should be closing in the next week or so. How exciting!

When we got home from Toys R' Us, my BIL was watching the game and taking care of Little E. Big A was playing with toys on the couch and my sis was getting ready to give Princess a bath. It was quite a sight. We all watched the end of the game together-ROOOOOOLL TIIIIIDE! The kids were so cute jumping around with their shakers.
On Sunday, DH announced that he had made a decision. I said, "okay, what?" He said he was going to buy the family an iPod Touch, mainly for Princess to use for the plane ride. So we leave in search of the best deal on one of these. We find it by price matching one at Best Buy. I have to admit, this thing is pretty cool and had Princess enthralled while watching an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.....Hmmmm, might be an okay plane ride afterall. Then we ventured back to Toys R' Us to purchase the Thomas items that we wanted from Saturday. We got several big ticket items for 50% off! Princess and her Betrothed are going to be all decked out come Christmas time (if I can keep DH from opening everything before then...)
Well, this was the majority of our weekend...add in my coupon shopping (Walgreens this week people!!!! GET ON IT!) well I am worn out! Have a great week!!

It's Friday!

TGIF! I hate short weeks because they seem SO much longer than regular weeks. Tomorrow DH and I get to go on a Real Date without crayons! My sis is bringing her boys to my house to play with A so DH and I can go out. We really don't know what to do or where to go! We will probably wind up at Toys R' Us buying something for the princess, of course.
There will also be much coupon shopping this weekend! My sis and I are working on turning giftcards inton 60+ packs of dipes, 60+ tubs of wips, and triple that in children's medicine....I will let you know how it turns out! I am also going to meet my friend, L, at her new house! I am very excited to see it IRL as I have only seen pics. She and her DH will be closing on it soon and I am so happy for them. Oh well, I'm pretty boring on this Friday morning...so I guess I will go work for awhile......

She's a Greek Goddess

So event #1 complete. I went with M so she could try on wedding dresses. In one hour we tried on about 8 different dresses in all sorts of shapes and designs. I'm going to see if she will let me post a pic of the favorites. She was absolutely gorgeous in all of them of course but there is one that really stood out for me and I think this might be "the" dress for her. She just melted when she tried it on....okay, in case I can't post a pic I will describe it to you. It was a heavy, cream colored, satin material, one shoulder (left) with a rhinestone broach holding the shoulder. The back had a fairly small train with the shoulder having a "tail" as well. It is absolutely breathtaking and really resembles a greek goddess dress. Hopefully she will let me post a pic for you!
I started off the weekend doing my regular shopping and fun coupon shopping. Saturday I got to spend several HOURS BY MYSELF SHOPPING. (You moms will understand just how important this is.) It was so nice to leisurely walk around the stores and not have to keep your toddler happy while you rushed through hoping you didn't miss anything from your list. I got lots of free makeup from CVS, some Crayola Colorwonder stuff recommended by S from Target for the plane ride and another present for K&T, fun stuff from Wal-Mart too. Then I met M at Olive Garden for a much needed drink before the wedding dress fun. Sunday I took the little monster with me so DH could have some alone time this weekend as well. She and I hit several CVSs, Walgreens, and other grocery stores for our weekly shopping/fun couponing trips. We spent our Labor Day at home relaxing. DH grilled out and we pretty much played all afternoon with our little princess. I did give her a little bitty baby doll that I bought for her to take on the plane with us. It is small enough to fit in her backpack. I will take a pic of her tonight and post it as well. She was rocking her and singing "Rock a Bye Baby". It was so stinking cute.
